We are currently accepting expressions of interest and nominations for all officer positions in AED. The positions are: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Historian, and Social Chair
For the past two years, AED has been run using a team approach, with each officer contributing what he/she can to the success of the organization. Please send Jonathan Bender or me an email if you are interested in running for a position no later than Friday, MARCH 25. We will be voting on officers at the forum on Tuesday, MARCH 29. You must be present to vote.
The AED Calendar of Events has been updated, there have been a few changes so please take a look so you don’t miss any of the forums or events. Also, our first forum will be held this Thursday, January 27th, at 6:00pm in Life Sciences LL25. I hope to see everyone there!
The Calendar of Events for Spring 2011 has been updated on the website. The first Health Forum will be Thursday, January 20 at 6:00 PM in the Shumaker Research Bldg, Room 139. AED is welcoming Dr. Jennifer Gregg that evening, whose specialty is Health Communications. Her areas of expertise include the upcoming field of “Telemedicine”, which focuses on the delivery of health care through the use of technology. As always, food will be provided! For those volunteering for Festival of Trees and Lights here is some info about the event! It’s the same as the email I sent but I thought I’d post it here anyway!
Date: Saturday, November 13th
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift so you can be oriented with the Festival of Trees and Lights Team and be trained in your volunteer area. When you arrive, please report to the “Volunteer Check-In” area located on the EAST SIDE (Jackson Street Entrance) of Louisville Slugger Field. Louisville Slugger Field is located at 401 E. Main Street. After you check-in, you will be taken to your assigned area and trained. Please also plan to stay 15 minutes after your assigned shift to train the next volunteer coming into your area.

This Thursday on August 26th we will be having our Second Annual AED Back to School BBQ. It will be held at the Red Barn, from 6-8, and we will be grilling out burgers and hot dogs. Our speaker will be Dr. Burns, the veterinarian at the Louisville Zoo. It should be a lot of fun, so stop by if you have a chance. We’re hoping to have an even better turn out than last year. See you there!
